わたしが家に帰るとすれば、家も海へ帰るだろう。

If I were to return home, home would return to the sea.

This mound of sand before you once lay at the deep bottom of the sea. Long before your guardian spirits, or even their ancestors... had any form.

In a time when the sea and the lake were one and the same, magma crystallized in the depths of the Earthand became a single rock.

Even after enough time had passed for a dandelion seed to circle the globe carried only by a soft breath, that rock still held a faint warmth.

When the rock finally grew cold, a house appeared from a warp in the magnetic fieldand tapped against it —clink.

That house was the onelost to the tsunami —his mother's house.  "I want to go back to my own home," she would say, running away at the same hour every night.

She would leave a note saying, "Thank you for everything," and set off with nothing but a bundle in a cloth. Every night, the son would bring her back, untie her bundle, and weep as he watched her sleeping face.

The mother's true home, along with the seaweed her son once farmed, still drifts through the ocean today.

From the faint vibration of the house touching the rock, the continents of Europe and Africa collided. That is how the Alps were born.

The rock rose with the mountains into the light of the world. The mother's house remained alone in the sea.

The place where the house once touched the rock was now gently caressed by the wind.

Over ages of time, the windshaved away the skin of the rock, grain by grain. The dust of that shaved skin flowed down the rivers, and now —before it reaches the sea— It has been brought here, to this place, for just a fleeting moment. ‪
